Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot - forecast is for a decent day - we'll see. I have wash load ready to peg out on the line, got a load line dried yesterday.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was shepherds pie with LO yorkshires and veg, with some fresh gravy - all eaten no LO's.
Not sure what we'll be eating tonight - but I'm going food shopping first thing so will see what's available.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.I was sorry to read that you'd had bad news NMLC, hope you're ok.Another fine start, think I'll put some washing in, it should dry.We had a good day yesterday with Dgs, we took him to an offshoot of the York Railway museum about half an hour away. He likes it there, calls it "that big garage with trains in"we are meeting up with Ds and Dil today, they are both on holiday, I don't know if they are coming here, or if we are meeting them out somewhere, it has yet to be revealed. Either will be fine.Vsiting a friend tonight, there'll only be 2 of us, the other 2 have other things on tonight.Snoozer, hope you're ok, it was a bit of luck to get your eye problem diagnosed quickly.DP1 sorry to hear the Dr thinks you've got long Covid, Hope it doesn't last too long.So you've got the lurgy as well Coxy, hope it's a mild case. DH and I got off fairly lightly when we had it, hope you're the same. I think everyone will get it eventually.Hope you enjoy your weekend away Ruby, you need a break.Thinking of the poorly and sad people today. Take care folks.14

Morning All
Dry and fine this morning but a bit misty, hoping the sun will break through later. Washing on the line, getting used to this!
Hope you enjoyed the performance yesterday Gers.
Great service Snoozer.
Hope those with colds are recovering, also taff's Covid. Sounds like your GP is on the ball dp1, look after yourself.
I did an hour in the garden yesterday, took out some conifers from pots and replaced them with some ornamental grass that had to come out when the shed moved. Not sure I like it but it'll have to do for now. The conifers are going to school to be planted there - they can grow all they want.
Hope you all have a good Friday, enjoy your weekend away Ruby, you really deserve to be spoilt.
Take care. XX14 -

Morning folks. The start of my drive down yesterday was damp and miserable but once I'd come over the Rest the sun broke out and it became glorious. First I had an appointment at a place just round the corner from my hotel though getting there from the west end was trickier than normal as the main 'down' road for most buses was closed for resurfacing. Of course there was chaos, jams and temporary bus stops! The performance of Cyrano with James McAvoy, and a company of fabulous actors was the most outstanding production I've ever seen. No props, modern dress, slam poetry, rapping, no sets so no balcony scene, all the actors either facing the audience or having their backs to it etc It was certainly a million miles away from anything else seen before. James McAvoy used his native Glasgow accent, and sometimes the vernacular too, which was just fabulous. I could go on about it for a very long time...but won't. Fair to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and was overwhelmed. This morning I've got an appointment with my optician, this afternoon I'm seeing my orthopaedic surgeon about my wonky hip and this evening I'm meeting friends to watch a comedian at the Glasgow Comedy Festival. All go! 😄Coxy - so sorry to read that you have the virus, I hope it's only mild and you recover soon.DP1 - good that you have a diagnosis now and can stop feeling guilty.Camelot - removing those conifers sounds like a good move, you'll soon find the right plants to put in the spaces. Yesterday I bought two strawberry buckets as the ones in my garden look very battered and weak because of the rotten winter. My thoughts are with the poorlies and those looking after them. Happy Friday to all.15

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A beautiful sunny start here and forecast to stay with us all day. I didn't get my usual head start on cleaning yesterday so I must get cracking on the Friday Tidy this morning and then maybe this afternoon I might get outside in the sun, either sitting or pottering.
My shopping trip with DD ended up an almost all day job as usual! Just finished in time to pick the girls up from school. I was able to cancel my Te*co order for this weekend as I got everything I wanted yesterday. A few store cupboard bits from Home B, Catsan from B & M, and all the fresh stuff from Aldi. It's ages since I was last in and I was very pleased to find a lot of the prices hadn't increased. Some had but that's to be expected at times like this. Still nothing bought for the freezers as I am gradually working through them but the fridge is looking a lot fuller.
I got a message that, being an old biddy of over 75, I could book my Spring booster so I have booked that for tomorrow. I hope I don't have any ill after effects as I was fine after the first three. Fingers crossed!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. We have so many poorlies at the moment so I am wishing them all a speedy recovery. COXY I hope your symptoms are light and DP1 your long Covid soon disappears. SNOOZER well done to the medics for getting you an appointment so quickly. Thinking of NRA and NELS as always. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc - have a good day off work.
Thanks for the well wishes. I stopped worked mid-afternoon yesterday as was finding it hard to concentrate. Still have a sore throat and cough and feeling tired. Will see how I go today.
Glad you enjoyed the performance Gers, sounds wonderful. Enjoy the comedy tonight too.
dp1 - sounds like your GP is on the ball.
Sorry snoozer I think we cross posted yesterday. Glad that the optician was able to spot the issue and get you seen soon.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight but think it's just DH and I. Will have to send DH for supplies if any are needed as I can't go outAlso can't go to FC tomorrow morning or curry with friends tomorrow night. DH's birthday Sunday along with Mother's Day so we had plans we've had to cancel. Looking like it might be a takeaway on Sunday.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all well not a great day today ,my eldest DD and son-in-law were due to fly to New York tomorrow for two weeks holiday to see my grandson Danny and his wife
They have had to cancel as my son-in-law has tested positive for Covidvery disappointing for them both,my DD especially as she was so looking forward to spending Mothers Day with her son as she's not been able to for 5 years as he lives in the US.
All their plans had to be cancelled including not just the flights but hotels car parking at Heathrow and tonights hotel at Heathrow. They had booked back last year and had been upgraded to business class as so few flights were being filled and she was really looking forward to the flight as well. But it is what it is and life could have dealt a lot harder blow had it happened a year or so ago. They have had all three vacinnations as wellbless them. She is still negative at the moment but her OH is feeling rough poor chap. It seems to be very virulent in Kent at the moment half our dustmen are down with the virus and collections are delayed
Hopefully it will pass and they can rebook for later next month fingers crossed. They have a cravan in Deal and I think they are going down there to isolate for a week, with luck it will be sunny and dry .They like long walks or bike rides and the peace of the Kent country side, so with luck they can relax down there.
Its very misty here at the moment ,but I think it will burn off and be a nice spring day, clocks change this weekend, so lighter evenings at least
Hope everyone has a good weekend and hugs for the poorlies and good wishes for the birthday folk .My great granddaughter Erin is four tomorrow and its gone so quickly.
Right I'm off for a cuppa
Stay safe and keep well

Hi everyone,
The warm weather is due to come to an end at the weekend, just in time for us to head for your neck of the woods TA. It looks like it will be dry though so that's the main thing. We were hoping to get more walking done while we're there but events seem to be conspiring against us. Steve finished his antibiotics yesterday but is still coughing and doesn't feel great so I shall have to keep a close eye on him. We've also got a chimney sweep coming to clean the flues of the wood burners and the chimneys. Finally, we will have Steve's oldest friend and his wife staying with us for a couple of days. It will be good to see them because we haven't seen them in person since before first lockdown.
Today I want to put the binding on a quilt, maybe on two if I can then all the quilts I had quilted by someone else will be finished, hurrah. One of them had been sitting in a drawer after I pieced it for about 5 years!
Thinking of all the poorlies and their relatives and especially Ruby and her family.
Have a good day.14
