Hi
I'm hoping for someone to have a similar set up and have resolved the insurance connundrum because i'm just being given the runaround!
Situation;
Annexe built 2002 attached to main Victorian house
Annexe has it's own address and council tax banding which was triggered on the sale (we bought it last year)
Annexe is 90% flat roof
Annexe is occupied by my mum
Annexe is accessed internally from the main house but also has it's own front door.
Initially, I treated the property as a whole and found insurance with AXA online but an error with the address meant I had to contact them to amend and when I clarified the situation regarding the two address on the system, they said I'd have to have 2 policies. They couldn't do the annexe because it was 90% flat roof and was fibre glass rather than felt, tile or concrete!
Approached A-Plan and they came back with a quote for a policy whereby they said because it is all one one set of deeds, it would need one insurance policy.
it was very expensive so I'm now back at the start, thinking I will just put the details in online again and get a policy for the property as a whole ..
Can anyone give me their experience or guidance if similar circumstances?
Many thanks

Haven't you asked this before? Or just a very similar situation to another poster maybe.
Is the doors between the granny annex just a basic paper internal door or a proper solid external door? Are there any locks on the door? If so, which side?
Personally I'd get quotes online with it being one property but before buying pick up the phone and ensure they are comfortable with the setup. From vague memory I think the other post came up that DL would be comfortable but required purchase over the phone to note it.0
