I have and used to wear when it fitted me a skirt made by my mother in 1970. And an astrakhan coat bought in the seventies or late sixties.

Last year my Mum gave me a large, voluminous, full length winciette nightie that she had kept, carefully wrapped, for many years. It is really cosy and snug to wear in the winter. Apparently it was the one she wore in hospital after giving birth to me!! I have a denim jacket with "fur" collar and cuffs that I bought in Debenhams 70% off sale at least 15 years before I retired and I've been retired 17 years. So its older than 32 years. My youngest DGD has asked if she can have it when she has grown into it!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"6

I've just remembered the sheepskin jacket I've got which I bought with my first salary payment in 1982. It'll be 40 in September.

I'm very much enjoying the vintage clothes conversation. My two oldest still-worn items are from my teenage years : a band t-shirt my then-boyfriend bought me in 1990 and an addidas t-shirt I bought myself from a second-hand stall in the rag market in Birmingham in 1992 and I have no idea how old it was then so it's at least 30 years and still going strong.4

Me too, very much enjoying hearing about the old but much loved clothes. Frugalistas 64 year old nightie has got to be the winner5

These vintage clothes are the best value for money I've heard about in a long time. I wonder if todays Primarni will be going strong in 30+ years?
I think not.5 -
You never know. I bought a t-shirt in What Every Woman Wants which later became What Everyone Wants. White short sleeved t-shirt with apples on it cost 50 pence in 1980. Wore it every summer but also under sweaters in Spring, Autumn and Winter.
I finally put my hand right through it tucking it in.In 2008!!! Wish I had bought all their stock of said t-shirt now.5 -
