Sorry to be negative but I have found that the Probate Office just ignore you. I am still awaiting a reply to an email I sent them over 2 months ago. That whole service needs a good shake up because it is not working effectively.
Over 2 months / 8 weeks. It seems to me that it takes around 8 weeks for an Examiner to review your probate application. If there are any questions then you receive an email but even if your email response is sent within an hour any email that you send to contactprobate@justice.gov.uk goes into a huge inbox along with all the rest and your probate application will not be reviewed by an Examiner for another 8 weeks. Rinse and repeat.
Use the web chat service and ask the Agent if the email that you sent in has been added to your application and also ask for your case to be escalated / expedited.
The probate service is falling apart,6 months out still no probate, continually contacting webchat line get fobbed off with it,ll take 3 weeks after case is escalated, then 3 weeks later nothing.I,m the sole execetor of the will, noi nheritance tax to pay but still no probate. The service is a joke, have taken it up with my MP.
