Leeds building society application time line

Leeds building society rang and said all our documents have been accepted and we are due a valuation tomorrow. In people’s experiences if a mortgage makes it to valuation stage with Leeds is this a good sign? If the valuation comes back fine of course. They’ve asked for no more documentation and seem to be fine with what they have. We’re using a broker

  • Hi, how are you getting on? We are going through the process too. Mortgage application submitted on 18th March. The underwriter asked for more documentation on Wednesday. Valuation was instructed following response which I asked my MB to cancel on Friday as we want a home buyers report. Heard nothing since. I’m waiting for a call to take payment.

Valuation went fine apparently. we had a call from the sales office from where we are buying the house from to pick our kitchen.

They said on the phone it went fine so we presume we should hear on Monday with good news hopefully from the broker.

    it’s all very confusing
  • Yes it is confusing. I’m guessing you are FTB like us. I asked MB not to cancel the valuation if it would delay the application but was told it wouldn’t delay by much. He spoke to Leeds who were fine with it and said he was just waiting for an email from Leeds for the survey booking then he would call for payment. That was Friday morning and heard nothing since but it is the weekend.
Fingers crossed for you for Monday then. Let me know how you get on as it seems we applied on the same day.

Hopefully they both come back fine. I’m presuming the final stage is a valuation and if that’s fine then they will offer
  • Morning, @Ozzpala, have you heard anything. I’ve still not been asked for payment for the homebuyers report. My MB says he will call them if he hasn’t heard by tomorrow. The waiting for everything is driving me crazy.

Good luck with it. Hope you hear something soon 😊
  • Any news @Ozzpala? We have heard today our valuation is booked for 08/04. Curious to know how long we will likely wait for the decision following valuation. Thanks 😊

The house was valued at £5k less than offer price. I’m waiting to see if the vendor is willing to give at all. Most houses near me are going for above asking price as there is nothing on the market.
