Hi all, just wanted to update on my case as I had previously asked for advice on this forum.
This was from Vehicle Control Services from nearly 6 years ago!
They put a claim in via DCB Legal for 2 incidents - one of which was filed for discontinuance by the claimant due to a lack of evidence. So they continued with this other incident, and on the court paperwork they filed the dates as "Americanised" - with the day and month the opposite way around in comparison with their timestamped photographic evidence. The judge immediately picked up on this and dismissed the case very quickly, I was in and out of the courtroom in 10 minutes. The claimants representative admitted to only receiving the paperwork 10 minutes prior to the hearing! Clearly don't know their !!!!!! from their elbow
To anyone who reads this in a similar situation - follow the newbies thread, such a massive help! Hopefully my situation can help others in the same situation
I'd like to thank all forum members who helped and advised me on my case, couldn't have done it without you all!

Nice result. The right outcome inmho.
@Coupon-mad thanks for flagging. As I had indicated elsewhere, their pleaded case is their pleaded case. They don't get to change it without an application. So if they transcribe a date incorrectly and elect not to use days and words, that's their lookout: The defendant is entitled to work on the basis that the date is correct.
I have seen another case where the o/p rather hedged the point. The challenge with that (in my view) is that it suggests that the o/p is well aware of what the case *should* be and is prepared to argue both.1 -
Well done ....... maybe DCBL needs to go to Specsaver ?0

Nice result, but it does show how PPCs are abusing the court system and using it as a debt collection .A professional outfit would / should have ensured that a court case was handled correctly , but as it is with Simon Renshaw-Smiths VCS/Excell and others courts are being used as a stick to scare people into paying up, and while each loss ( and even some wins) may costs the PPCs money by and large going through the courts is a loss leader , as the mere thought of it going to court will scare enough into paying up to cover any losses. My instinct following this would be to go after the landowner to recover costs caused by their agent ( the parking company)From the Plain Language Commission:
