Please HELP 15 Year Old With Choosing an Account

Hello All
I'm 15 years old, and have decided its time to sort myself out a bank account, a slightly safer alternative to the tin under the bed.
So, I need some advice on where to open up a current account. Where can I find a comprmise between good interest rates, and other extras (such as cheap rail tickets and the like)
I'm fairly clued up on interest etc, so don't worry hugely about dumbing everything down for me.
Thanks in Advance
Adam

I usually suggest you look at the HSBC and Nationwide offerings - both of their 'child' accounts are available to under 18's.
Nationwide pays slightly more interest but only comes with a cashcard, while the HSBC comes with a debit card.
Whichever you get, don't forget to register your account for gross interest.
Also once you are 16, you can open a Cash ISA.

Abbey's under 18's current account will be paying 6% interest from Monday. Comes with a cashcard, and you can get Electron and cheque book once you're 16.0

My son (also 15) has Nationwide account, seems pretty good. I think once you hit 16 you can transfer to a flexaccount if you need full banking0
