A few to look at..
ETF portfolios made simple | justETF
Morningstar Financial Research, Analysis, Data and News
Trustnet - Unit trusts & OEIC’s | Investment trusts | life, pension and offshore funds| Fund & Manager Factsheets | Prices | Performance | Ratings | Videos | News & Research
Should be a link here somewhere..
Investing for beginners: The global stock market - Monevator
If you do go down this route there's a few things to look out for. Check the factsheet for physical replication.
The bigger the better for me with market capitalisation in billions such as VWRL global tracker.
I'd stick to the funds which come under UK taxation rules. Normally states Domicle : Ireland for example such as the Vanguard and Ishares ETF's. Not worth messing on with further taxes if possible have your funds in ISA's or SIPP's etc. Links below are a bit out of date but there's some decent reading.
Tax efficient investing in the UK (or what order to put things into an ISA or SIPP) - Monevator
Avoid tax shocks by using reporting funds - Monevator
ETFs and the peculiar effects of withholding tax - Monevator
Read up on coverage below in the link.
