Morning all. It's fine, dry and very still here but the sun seems to be reluctant to put in an appearance, although I can see it's trying to get through the cloud. Try harder please!
Today I could do with changing the bedding but it will have to wait until tomorrow to be washed as I currently have a darks wash on and then there are tea towels and kitchen hand towels to go in after that. This afternoon I'll be visiting the PO to pick up a parcel that I've had re-directed there - Royal Mail left a card last week to say they couldn't gain access to deliver it. Mmm, I'm not sure about that as there's usually one of us at home - more like he was in a hurry and didn't want to wait. Hey ho, minor problem in the grand scheme of things, it will get me out for a walk and some fresh air anyway.
Yesterday's cake ended up being coconut with a lemon butter cream filling. I made it in a square baking tin so I could cut it into squares, some for now and some for the freezer. DH says he doesn't have a sweet tooth but he sure can shift cake when it's around.Last night's liver etc was much enjoyed and I'm already looking forward to tonight's offering - sea bass with cauli cheese from the freezer and maybe a few cheeky chips on the side.
Oh dear TA, your DD is going through the mill by the sound of it. Let's hope there are no more disasters waiting in the wings. Have a good time playing with the ornaments.
taff- Yes, I know what you mean about the 31st. Go on, treat yourself to some new pants.
RR - You're a good'un being there for your nephew.
Get well soon wishes to those with colds and sniffles. I suppose we have to expect these now that restrictions have been lifted but it's a fine balancing act to stay safe whilst trying to get back to some kind of normality. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Been out today from 10 - 2.30 at SA. Busy time making tea and coffee - there was a work experience girl there today - she was very good chatting to our visitors. Home for a short while then back to SA for 6 for a service of reflection for those lost in the last two years of Covid.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

poppy811 said:Well, officially poor now! Finally got heating oil delivery, minimum order is 500 litres and cost 98 pence al litre plus VAT so goodbye over £500. No choice on this as there is no gas in the village and the boiler supplies my heating and hot water. So glad I have a woodburner and of course the weather is warming up. Must do a quick tidy up before my cleaner arrives. I shall go to the village coffee morning so as to get out of her way.
Best wishes to all
Hugs and thoughts to you all, especially RedRuby and her family, Nels and NRA. Positive energies to the poorlies, whether Covid or the ubiquitous cold (fellow cold victim here).

Think it is time to contact our MPs as there is no price cap on oil. I won’t hold my breath.8
