Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot - forecast is for a decent day - we'll see. I have wash load ready to peg out on the line, got a load line dried yesterday.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken steaks (fresh that needed using up) with pasta in a creamy tomato sauce. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be eating but I have plenty of veg in the fridge - have some quorn mince so will make a shepherds pie and use up the veg to go with it.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad although covid has made another appearance and lots of staff are off with it at the moment. It's my half day today - but have a couple of urgent jobs to do this afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning, thanks for the start nmlc.
I'm off to the (old) London office today to pack crates as the building is being decommissioned. I've had a sore throat and sniffles since the weekend and general fatigue. Have done two LFTs and both clear, so either it's the start of hayfever or 'just a cold'. Hoping it won't be a full day today and I can get home early.
Have already made some pork and apple burgers which are chilling in the fridge. Will get some brioche rolls for DH and DS2 on my lunchbreak/way home.
Hope you all have a good day and hugs to Ruby, TA's bff, Nelski and mum, NRA and Dad, poppy, taff and anyone else in need.

Morning folks
Today look promising, there's some mist hanging about so I hope it'll burn off soon. Yesterday was lovely so I scraped together some things to wash and hang out.
I managed to get a callback from the advanced nurse practitioner at my surgery about a problem in my mouth. After some discussion she prescribed drops for me, so that took me out. When I was leaving my place the stockman driving his big red tractor was trundling along so he stopped for a chat. He's such a great talker it's always a pleasure when he has time to chat, especially about his favourite topic - cows! There's a bumper number of calves this year with the lambs not due until April. Happy talk. 😀
This morning I need to go back into town to pick up a couple of things and post a letter. The postie will take letters with him but, of course, he doesn't always stop here and I want to get it away today. Then I'll settle down to finish off the scanning, I hope. I'm off to Glasgow tomorrow (Cyrano performance) so want it off my plate.I hope that everyone and their families are doing OK. Special thoughts to our missing and poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all13 -

Morning All
Looks like it will be another nice day, the bedding is in the WM, hoping to put it back on later when it's dry.
I'm having another day off although I do feel better but was awake most of the night coughing. Like you Izzy, it's just a cold, lateral flows are negative so it will run it's course. Hopefully I can be a bit more lively today, yesterday was mostly spent on the sofa.
Hope you feel better Izzy.
You're always so busy Florence, you put me to shame!
My thoughts are with those struggling with life.
Take care. XX

Well, officially poor now! Finally got heating oil delivery, minimum order is 500 litres and cost 98 pence al litre plus VAT so goodbye over £500. No choice on this as there is no gas in the village and the boiler supplies my heating and hot water. So glad I have a woodburner and of course the weather is warming up. Must do a quick tidy up before my cleaner arrives. I shall go to the village coffee morning so as to get out of her way.
Best wishes to all13 -
Morning everyone
Another lovely morning - hope this weather lasts.
Thanks Polly - I'd forgotten about Hester's blog. My memory which was pretty dire to start with seems to have disappeared altogether since I had Covid.
The wooden sand table I'd ordered for little one came yesterday - it's very sturdy and the perfect size - I'm really pleased with it. So was the man who made it - he usually just does planters - I said to put a photo of it on his Facebook listing as I'm sure he'd get more orders. I'm going to walk along to Homebase this morning to see if they have some bright paint for it. Little one is going to be so excited when she see it.
Then I have work at lunchtime - we'll be outside in the garden making the most of the sunshine.
Camelot, Izzy and Coxy hope your colds clear up soon.
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care x14 -
Morning all. Been up for an hour or more but have been attempting to sign up for a potential anti viral study that was already chock full of participants. Oh well, we'll see. I went through the hot and cold thing I don't know how many times yesterday so I resorted in the end to wearing my cardi back to front so I could just pull it off during the hot spots. I am determined to have a shower today and do some washing, I am only left with the kind of pants you wear in an emergency, which just tells me I need more pants. I think my sister has anough for six weeks, me, about a week...What's a normal pants to week ratio? Anyway, not too bad today, just going to make myself some toast because I would have to be really ill indeed to forego food. Even when I was having the chemo and things tasted horrible I kept eating to try and find something that tasted nice. Bovril and meaty crisps was the answer there...and kimchi. OH getting slowly better but still a bit feverish and fatigued but he wouldn't call it that. Knackered is his preferred term. So obviously, no plans today, lot fo sitting watching the internet. And a shower. Please god a shower!Gers, enjoy the time away..Coxy, hope the day goes quickly! Camelot, Izzy, you look after yourselves! weenancy, I have never been but with work on the house in the future, I wanted to have a nosey. And to look at the bright shiny things..
YL, I'm trying to remember to do my last one on the 31st so I don't get charged next month for this month IYSWIM..Nanny, your builder and my mechanic brothers? Right, hope Nelski is having some rest..and NRA. Good wishes and thoughts to you all...

Morning all
Nice bright day here which is good as I have loads of washing to do. My eldest nephew is staying with my mun for a while as he is very traumitised by what he saw and his mum cant help him atm due to her loss. He bought his clothes with him in a bin bag and when I looked in it they were all screwed up and filthy dirty and very smelly, I bought them home with me yesterday and gave them a hot wash the water was black in the wm, they still smelt when I got them out so gave them another wash with vinegar and then hung them on the line overnight. I then collected the clothes he had on and they are on a second wash now I will hang those out too so at least he will smell a bit better, he is getting no support at home at all with washing his clothes or personal hygine its so sad, as he has a learning difficulty he needs help with these things and is just being left to his own devices.
He is also skin and bone so I dont think he has been eating for a while, and his hair and beard are out of control, I am going to take him today to a local turkish barber to get that sorted. Mum has also paid for some new clothes for him which should arrive today, my dd chose them so they should be trendy enough for him !
His mum although I feel so sorry for her is not a good mum, all the boys have been left to bring themselves up and they are not managing very well, the other two are a bit better off and at least keep themselves clean and tidy, But the eldest two have really struggled, due to their problems, so we will help where we can.
Have good days all and thank you for your support xxx

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun is supposed to be shining now but it's not watching the clock and it's late coming out.
I'm a latecomer this morning thanks to DD's broken boiler which is finally getting replaced today. She has been without gas for a month, consequently no hot water or heating. They have an electric shower upstairs which has been blessing but last night water was streaming through the living room ceiling while eldest DGD was in it! Another problem to get sorted out. She goes from one drama to another. Anyway the 2 who couldn't have a shower last night have been here for a shower before school. The plumber was due at 8.00 and hoped to have the new boiler in within the day so fingers crossed. She is sick of boiling kettles to wash up etc.
I met my bff as planned yesterday and she is quite positive since the diagnosis saying she will agree to whatever treatment they recommend when she goes back next Tuesday. Her family are obviously worried as is of course her DH. Her eldest son who lives down south is coming up for a few days so he can be here too when she finds out what's ahead.
When the sun comes out I am planning on going out in the back garden for a sort out. I have lots of ornaments etc piled on the garden bench in the garage that were Christmas or birthday presents so they will be hung on the fence or given pride of place on the patio. (Assuming I have got round to trying to clean the mucky patio!)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. CAMELOT and IZZY I hope your colds disappear soon and TAFF's Covid symptoms are not too bad. And maybe NAN's builder will appear today? What is it with tradesmen these days turning up as if any day will do. Thinking of NELS, NRA and RUBY's family. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all, the sun has got his hat on again today but as yet no builder even though he texted last night to say he's definitely coming today. Think he's run off with taff's car.
Yesterday we dismantled the cross trainer in the spare bedroom which sadly no one wanted, not even for free. I've been asking Mr Fix It to do it for a long time 🙄, it just seemed to be doing a marvellous impression of a clothes horse as neither of us can use it now. Himself has bad knees and I'm just allergic to it 😂 It had to be taken apart as it was much to heavy to get down the stairs so it's now in bits, the motorised bits have been kept, the plastic bits will go to the tip and the metal parts are waiting for the scrappy man. At least now I won't be falling over the d*mn thing, I can't count the number of times I've tripped and gone head long into the day bed !
Today I want to give the spare bedroom a good clean now I don't have to heave and shove the elephant out of the way. I've already wiped down the kitchen worktops and cleaned and oiled the wok. I may get the mower out and give the grass it's first cut of the year if I have any energy spare, if not there's always tomorrow.
Sorry to read that a lot on here have either the dreaded covid or colds, hope you all get better soon/ have mild symptoms.
Hugs to those in need especially RedRuby and family, NRA and Dad and Nels and Mum 🧡
Redbuby that's so sad about the state of your nephew. Hope you can sort his clothes out and he likes his new ones.
TA hope DD can get her boiler fixed today
Have a good day in the sun, if you can.
Take care all
