Barclays Freedom Rewards vs Rewards

in Credit cards
Hi,
I have a Barclays Freedom Rewards card where you earn points per £ and can convert them to vouchers for Amazon etc. I'm wondering whether it would be more beneficial to transfer this card to a Barclaycard Freedom card with the 0.25% cashback, especially as I have a couple of foreign trips this year and it has the advantageous foreign transaction rate?
TIA

If you plan on traveling a lot then yes the no foreign transaction fees and no cash withdrawals fees are perfect for this.Skillst said:Hi,

TIAAlso if you use your Barclaycard a lot then the 0.25% cashback can soon mount up.Also the Halifax Clarity credit card is a good card for traveling though theres no cashback with this card.If you feel it’s a better fit for your needs then you should change your freedom rewards to the cashback rewards one.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:2 -
IIRC the reward rate on the Freedom card works out as effectively 0.33%, but you can only get it in vouchers of fixed amounts.
I'd probably take 0.25% straight cashback tbh.
Take a look at the free Avios Barclaycard though - 1 Avios pt per £, if you convert that in to Nectar that works out as 0.8% back to spend Sainsburys/Argos/Ebay.2
