    I love google and am not paranoid like you appear to be but I still got the ring one!

    Google/Ring/Some others. Expect to pay a monthly fee. Better if you go all in on the devices that way.

    Others. No monthly fee but no cloud storage etc which means not for security.

    Depends on what you want it for then.

    There isn't one best, otherwise there would only be one. Different people have different needs and preferences so different products may be best for them.

    Ring is probably the most popular in the UK but personally hate how bulky it is. Until recently Nest was mains only and we were fortunate to have a transformer that could power it already (with a battery chime) but now they have a battery option. Others prefer memory cards over online recording.

    The best one is one that has the features you want at the price you want.

  • Our Ring has literally been a lifesaver (picked up someone setting fire to our bin and putting it against the door) so I like them

    Is this a new Hermes delivery option?
    Slight tangent but I am really surprised that couriers (individuals not companies) aren't more concerned about video door bells... I mean its not as if they are covert so there is no mistaking if you are on camera or not and yet still have caught several couriers pressing the doorbell at the same time as putting the "sorry we missed you" card through the door and immediately walking away so less than 3 seconds to get to the door.

    On a couple of occasions the courier (company) has said having missed me its now my problem and I have to get to them to collect it or its going back to the sender etc but quickly sending the video clip to them has resulted in them doing a redelivery.

    Ring do various different one's and they have a small wired one which is quite a good price aswell;

    I got a good bargain for one of them with an echo show during Amazon black friday deals so worked out very cheap.

    They did at the time I was buying too but the power requirement was higher than Nest and wouldn't work with our transformer in the consumer unit and we dont have a near by plug to use a transformer (plus didn't want the visible wires).

    Looks like they have more options now and maybe the power requirements have changed.

    I'm stunned that you'd think that they'd get that close to delivering something. It'd probably be a flaming bin delivered two roads over :D
