How long does the initial boil take?4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1

In answer to the another question. I did not see any evidence of it boiling dry at 98 degrees. The lid is sealed, although I think there might be a pressure relief valve.
We have the 3.5 litre one. From empty it takes about 30 minutes to heat up. Although, I tend to top it up a bit throughout the day while I am waiting for my tea to brew. I find it much easier to top it up with a jug rather than unplug it.

Yes, I had heard mixed reviews of the 2.2 litre . From what I can make out the 3.5 and 5 litre versions have been rebranded by a number of companies but are essentially the same apart from a few tweaks e.g. Neostarpaul991 said:yes never had problems with the 3.5 but when it wore out replaced with the 2.2 which is not as good and does not have a timer.as in a hard water area have to top up with a filter0
