Car has constant issues

Hi, So we bought a new car last year, it is just over a year old. It has been at the garage around eight times including a recall. We haven't always been given a curtiosity car so it has been a huge inconvenience. This most recent time it has been at the garage since last Monday and they don't have a clue how to fix the problem.
My questions are:
1) How long can they keep the car ?
2) Do we have any rights to demand a new car after a certain amount of time?
Thanks

What is the car and what are the problems?
Are they recurring problems? When did they first arise?

It is a Vauxhall electric car. Problems vary, but this latest problem is we can't open the windows from the driver side. They replaced the switches last time and it still does not work, this has been months as it took so long to get the car booked in with them. They don't seem to have a clue how to fix it and can't say how long it will take.iwb100 said:What is the car and what are the problems?

Assuming you got a good deal when buying the car, you may be able to sell it at a year old and barely suffer a financial loss.0 -
Find the Vauxhall forum and check if this is a current problem with people who have the same model, talk to Vauxhall customer services as well.
Good idea to sell it get a price from Cazoo1 -
If the vehicle is subject to any finance tied to the car get the finance company involved as at the moment it is their car.2
