Does Ofgem set a specific unit rate and DSC as part of the price cap?
Both my unit rates and DSC will increase above the average given by Ofgem. I understand the average figures, but do they not set a specific figure to be adhered to? If not, why is mine more?

The charges vary a bit depending where you live.

It's interesting that the regulator chose to refer people to there energy provider to clarify rates, very helpful. Why didn't they present the detail of the cap as a tabulated range dependent on region. So much time wasted trying to decipher why my tarif is higher than the example.0

The "Energy Price Cap" is a bit of a mess anyway, some of that comes from Ofgem, a lot of it from the Minister, some from the legislation.Clibin said:It's interesting that the regulator chose to refer people to there energy provider to clarify rates, very helpful. That data is available, but the reason that they refer people to their energy provider is because the energy provider does not have to charge the price cap rate, most of them charge slightly under, even if only by a few tenths of a penny. That as well as fixed tariffs that people may choose to be on means that Ofgem can not specifically say what you rate will be.1 -
