Huh!
When I get to the front, I'm told that there was only a 3 year guarantee. I told them what had happened the previous week, and they simply refused to believe me.
I don't like being told I'm a liar, particularly when it is combined with someone swindling me.
If IKEA says there is a guarantee, remember to keep clear documentary evidence of that, because you very definitely cannot trust them to stick to their word. And you can't depend on the quality of their products

I know what you mean about delays in the 'customer Service' department, they do seem to have some loooooooooooong Q's sometimes!
Also i'd agree with making sure you can verify the implied warranty from ANY supplier. But couldn't you find the info again - think I'd have tried for the value of the purchase.
& regarding the Ikea attitude, yep - agree there, too - sort of.
We had an issue with a seat cover loosing colour, just over a year old. Think they get an awful lot of customers trying it on, so it was a bit of a trek to show the actual fault was a FAULT not us spilling something on the cover.
But, eventually, they would have refunded/replaced, but it was discontinued, so we agreed to keep the seats & have 1/2price paid refunded!
So happy with the result!
