I am thinking of a startup and want to protect the usage of .co.uk and .com - at this time I'm not sure if they would just be landing pages, or possibly be more detailed, with a blog, possibly e-commerce. Where should I be looking at? I'm thinking about cost, since I may / may not utilise.
Also, how do I protect my privacy online? I don't want my personal name/address to be provided as owner of the website but I don't have company details setup yet?
Edited to add: There's a high chance I'll use one of them for emails even if not for website.
Really grateful for any assistance - it's a new experience for me!Good as any is 123 reg , https://www.123-reg.co.uk/ I've used them for years, they have e mail as part of the package but are quite happy to just have the domain name without anything elseI set up the e mail to forward to my Gmail accountAs part of the registration procees you can opt in as privet individual so you remain hidden, but I see 123 now do that anyway https://www.123-reg.co.uk/domain-names/privacy-protection/No connection except as satisfied user

Can I use the email even if I don't use the domain for a live website?
TIA"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -

We have three domains with 1&1 - two direct to a web page and one is solely for email

TIAI didn't use them for hosting, may have changed since but it used to be advice to keep them seperate, never have all eggs in one basket etc. Plus domains you can pay for say five years in advance if you want which would not be wise for hosting and better offers elsewhere depending on site.I've always had trouble free service, at least it's never gone wrong so I've never had to contact them, bit like the old Carlsberg complaints department advert?Providing you own the domain name you can use the email without a live web site, I do for things like providing e mail for companies that require one but your'e never sure if you'll ever use them again and don't want to be spammed forever, thus spamco@farway.me.uk would forward to my gmaiil until or when I cancelled the spamco address in the farway.me.uk dashboard at 123Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
