Training company not refunding me

Hi
I'm hoping for some advice because I don't know what to do...
Basically I booked a training course with a local company at the beginning of the year and paid £1080 (via bank transfer) for it. I had to cancel the course a few weeks later as my circumstances changed and I no longer needed to do the course. Their T&Cs allow me to receive a full refund if I cancelled the course over 4 weeks before the course takes place, which I did.
Ever since, I've been trying to get a refund, I've sent emails, they mostly get ignored, I call them and if I'm lucky enough to speak to anybody they tell me someone will call me back, which no one does.
I had an email a few weeks ago from them asking for my bank details so they could process the refund, which I replied to pretty much straight away, but have heard nothing since! I emailed them a few days later asking when I'll receive my refund but they didn't reply.
I'm really fed up with it all now and am not sure what I can do? I've contacted my bank but because I paid them via bank transfer they can't do anything.
If anybody can give me any advice or suggestions I'd really appreciate it thanks.

You will probably have to sue them. Do you know the exact name of the company you paid and do you have an address for them?
You can google the process but basically you will need to send them what's called a "Letter Before Claim" outlining what they owe you and why they owe it, and giving them a deadline (is it usually 21 days?) within which to repay you what they owe you, otherwise you will sue them. If they don't pay up on time you issue a claim against them for the full amount plus whatever the fee was you paid to issue the claim.
Sometimes people will cave in and pay just on receipt of the letter. But if they don't you really need to follow through on the threat to sue.

If it's a local company, perhaps you could turn up at their offices and speak to them in person. This may focus their minds. You could even insist on them processing the refund while you are there.1
