April 1

Hi, both our electric and gas are with eon and we have the old style pay as you go meters.
Does anyone know how much money we can put on the electric key and gas card so we can put off the pain of the new tariffs from April 1. Also if we charge the key and card and before April 1 but don't put them in the meter until after April 1 will we be using energy at the new or old rate.
We tried talking to Eon on two occasions however they were either being extremely unhelpfull or they genuinly didn't know the answers.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i believe you can load what you like unless its a smart meter type,in which case the meter would change the tariff in April,I may be wrong though ,A neighbour is doing this so good luck.

We currently have £70 in the electric meter and £200 on the key. We can't top up the meter with the credit on the key until the meter reads £49.
If after April 1 we have not used the excess £21 then when we do top up with the key what tariff will We incur?0 -

Is it definitely when you charge your key or when you insert the key in the meter.
Sorry, we have heard so many conflicting statements and when we spoke to the Eon helpline the lady just kept saying we will be charged at the new tariff and you can't store energy!0
