There is a lot to be said for the flexibility of the Pylontech batteries, particularly if you think you might want to add more storage later.

On a practical note, ours would be in the loft and it would be a challenge to get a 60kg plus single battrry up the loft hatch.
I have looked at these but struggled to get somebody connect them up I think with the price of electric going up most suppliers are really busy out of 11 people I contacted four got back to me and 1 emailed to say that after supplying me with a quote he had to cancel, it as run out of stock and nothing coming in to later in year.

That's a shame. If you look at the lead times for batteries at the moment, it is difficult to see supply easing up any time before the autumn. So it might just be a case of going for what you can get hold of now to make the most of the current energy prices.

There seems to be quite a few people happy with Growatt system on the forum. A few niggles with the software and slow response time (both to power demand and customer service) but I can't recall any serious failures.

    4 Pylons plus a ME3000 would be 9.6kWh for around £4000.

I'm starting to now consider battery storage for my solar system and this is exactly what I'd like to be paying.  Is this a special price or is it fairly usual when I start getting quotes in?

Also, how does it work with the iBoost?  Does it heat water first and then charge batteries?

    Thanks
IBoost+ and iBoost Buddy installed last September 2021, with Solar Array 5.2 kW, Solar does base load then Hot water tank, instead of gas boiler, Nest thermostat controls on/off for hot water, off at moment.... iBoost shows used 444 kW to heat water... @0.1678p peak (tariff with Octopus) saving £74.50 in seven months, if you boil a kettle, or turn microwave on the iboost+ will default to wait for excess solar, that is turn off, same when solar charging car via Hypervolt 2.0 at 1.4 kW @ 6 amps. works very well, the iBoost Buddy is your control device you can setup anywhere in the house and will show import of solar energy heating hot water and when hot water is hot, show Hot Water , plus import energy on graphical scale for items like microwave, oven and car ev charging at 7kW (max show of 5866w must be the limit of the iBoost+ scale same on iBoost Buddy. Have yet to get battery storage but informed that batteries will take precedent over the Hot Water.. Going Solax X1 AC 3.6 kW inverter battery storage to prevent certain DC conflicts with battery and SEG instead of in one Solax X1 Hybrid 3.6 kW solar + battery charger and inverter
Your iBoost is saving you the cost of gas (4p per kwh) not electricity as this is what would otherwise be heating the water - you can perhaps add 10% for improved efficiency.
    I think....

It is today, but it was more like 4p/kWh when you diverted the 444kWh. Those 444kWh of solar diverted to heat saved you £17.76, not £74.50.
The next 444kWh you divert will save you £32.68, although considering you could instead sell them to Octopus for 4.1p/kWh so the saving from use of the diverter will really be £14.47.
