No invoice from tradesperson

Hello
I have had my Velux windows changed today. The tradesperson has asked that I make payment for the labour to his personal bank account. I had bought the windows directly myself from the supplier. I asked for an invoice in advance of payment for the labour but he seemed to just wave that away and ignore it. Is it in my interests to get that invoice before I pay? I assume I will need it if something goes wrong with the windows? Or is the receipt of payment more important?
Thanks

If something goes wrong with the windows it will be up to you to rectify the situation.3

This is why you need to think of youself as self-insuring when you try to save a few pounds in this way.
I can guarantee that, if something goes wrong with the windows then the installler will blame it on a fault with the windows and the window company will blame it on the installer. An invoice from the installer isn't going to help you.
Presumably the installer has the relevant membership to issue you with the required certificates on completion of the installation?

Remember, you (currently) hold the upper hand assuming that you haven't yet paid.Simply say 'no bill = no pay'1

A invoice can be on the back of a fag packet, if that’s the way he issues them.A thankyou is payment enough .2

Invoice would not act as a guarantee in this situation . He never supplied them just fitted . Guarantee should be between you and velux

Don't forget building control either. Window installation needs to be registered.Officially in a clique of idiots0
