Will my deputy still be able to make and deal with claims on my behalf without me having to deal with the DWP. I currently have a appointee but this will soon change to a deputyship. I read on the DWP pdf that people who have appointees the DWP should try and do a paper based assessment, will this still be the case with a deputyship. I lack capacity with my money. Will the DWP know this?
Is it harder to get a deputyship then appointee. It has to go to court of protection. All I'm bothered about that it looks better that I have a deputyship instead off a appointee so I continue getting benefits.

They are 2 completely different things when it comes to benefits. For benefits an appointee is needed if you're unable to deal with your claim yourself.williewonder said:I read on the DWP pdf that people who have appointees the DWP should try and do a paper based assessment,
Indeed but this doesn't mean you'll get one. The majority of people have assessments, paper based ones are rare.williewonder said:All I'm bothered about that it looks better that I have a deputyship instead off a appointee so I continue getting benefits.
Having an appointee doesn't mean you're automatically entitled to PIP.0 -
I have always had paper based assessments for DLA and PIP, since being 17, I'm now 36. I had to attend a ESA assessment 2 years ago but was only in there 5 minutes and the assessor said he could see I was severely disabled and I shouldn't off been called to there assessment.0
