Hi all,
II hope all if you people are doing great ????
I have this issue and despite googling several time, i just seem to be wasting my time i am not finding the right answers : my isssue is ::::: please see the photo/my own sketch attached and you will already guess what the issue is ????

Yes, SO ABOVE IS THE IMAGE. Starts with my logo and a line below it, then i start typing a letter. As you may have seen in the 1st and the 2 lines in the image are typing through the line (which will have text on the right of the line) i have drawn and pushing my text below. Is there anyway that the text i am typing (in the letter) should dash against the line or a text box and the same line should return to the next line rather crossing the line and pushing my text.
I hope my Pict is clear and easy to understand, though it seems like a hard word work for me, someone out there might find is very simple.
I thank you and kind regards
Best wishes
Aly

Sorry, I've read this three or four times now and I'm still none the wiser what you're trying to do.Are you basically trying to put text "on top" of that grid pattern and you want it to wrap to fit the grid?If so, not going to happen because Word doesn't work like that.Use a table and turn the borders off on it. Set the cell width to match the background and then it'll flow.I think that's what you want. If not, instead of coming out with flowery prose, just be more concise.0

It might be possible, is the grid shown in the backgrond of the document actually needed and part of the document or has the image come through from the other side of the page when scanned and is not really wanted?

(ignoring the grid shown in background)
Make a 3 column table
text in left one
line in middle one
address in 3rd one
Adjust column widths to suit
turn off tables borders to suit
or a 2 column table
text in left one
address in right one
Turn off all table borders except one of the vertical ones in the middle0 -
Yer, think that OP just wants to have a left and right column with a line between them, but with the uppermost lines not constrained to that format. The Black lines on the image aren't relevant and show why so many 'back of the envelope' calculations fail.
Can also do with two columns, just putting a bold border on the right side of the first.
Get rid of the dots on the cells except for the thick one that you want to keep.
Using Insert table, then "Home" and the little icon that looks like a Windowframe > 'Borders and shading'.

what i am trying to do is wrap the text before the line i drwe. in other words the text or letter i type should not cross the line. i can draw a table but the text still pushes the table down + a table will have all borders displayed or NO borders displayed but i do need the 1 line, the left hand line of the table. i want MS word to trat the line as if its the end or the right side of the page and how it will automatically wrap the text. i am not sure, i may be pushing my luck toooo far....cheers for your reply anyway.0 -

no no....sorry ...my apologies..gggggrrrrrr. The grid is on not on the paper where i sketched but the reverse of the page. The page i sketched on is perfectly truly white but the grid is on the reverse side. Its just that i could not find a pure white perfect both sides white paper to sketch on so i took a little page with the grids on it and the other side was totally white and empty. I had no clue the scanner will capture the reverse of the page too. Now i understand how some small little things can at times change the whole perspective. My apologies again.0 -
Just tune off ALL the borders of the table , and turn on the border on the end/side of one cell

but if i leave the vertical line in the table, will that line be movable or be placed near the address ????0 -

Depends how you format the text in the cells
That doc example was a table 2 cell wide
Maybe put another blank cell in between
Control position by dragging this
