Council Tax as executor

I am the executor for my mum. She passed away last April and I was granted probate around the beginning of July '21.
I did receive a discount for for the period and only had to pay £380 for the year, luckily I jad just enough money left from my mums estate but that has left no other funds available now.
I have just received the bill for this year of £1,353.29 however there are no funds left from my mums estate except for the house, which has been up for sale since last July. Also the house has been unfurnished shortly after it was put up for sale.
From what I have read on my local councils website is that I am no longer able to get any discounts or anything.
I am on benefits myself due to poor health.
Does anyone have any advice on if there is any help available as I really can't afford the £135 a month and I am at a loss now what to do

First, contact the council and explain the situation, they will probably allow you to defer payment until the house is sold.

Second, as the house has been on the market for 8 months, it may be time to think about reducing the asking price to get it sold.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

It's not your debt to pay, it's the estate's. The house is not yours, nor are you the occupier. However, as executor you had a responsibility to maintain enough funds in the estate to pay the ongoing maintenance costs until such time as the property is sold. So if you have distributed funds that could have paid the CT, you could be considered liable for any debts of the estate.
As others have said, you need to address why it is not selling after 8 months in a seller's market.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
