Kitchen Worktops

HI I am getting a Kitchen from Ikea again after previously having one but this time i am considering using Ikea laminate worktops with a Franke sink as opposed to Duropal worktops that i have used in the past.
Duropal would cost £436 as i would need deep tops due to the depth of Ikea units and doors + back panels
Ikea tops would be around £165 ish
I am thinking of a white stone effect/laminate tops to go with the light grey gloss slab doors and panels https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/saeljan-worktop-white-stone-effect-laminate-20283055/
what's your thinking on this colour match for the tops? I am open to Ideas though.
Are Ikea worktops any good?
Below is an example of the worktop and the doors
Thanks

Looks good as a combination, only concern would be how stain resistant the light worktops are going to be... had a rental property with light laminate worktops (no idea brand) and there were various yellow/brown circles that looked like they were caused by hot pans and a general discolouration in the obvious area for chopping etc as well as a slightly cut up surface.
Assuming it your own home then you'll probably be more careful than tenants are but its not as durable a material and light does show up these issues more1 -
HI The Ikea web site quotes "Spills and grease are easy to wipe clean and the worktop keeps its beauty over time"Sandtree said:Looks good as a combination, only concern would be how stain resistant the light worktops are going to be... had a rental property with light laminate worktops (no idea brand) and there were various yellow/brown circles that looked like they were caused by hot pans and a general discolouration in the obvious area for chopping etc as well as a slightly cut up surface.

Its my own home and just myself and my son live here.
What colour tops would you say for the kitchen?

What it doesn't tolerate is heat. So if you are putting hot pans down, use a trivet or mat. And it (should) go without saying, that cutting should be done on a chopping board.Have had a light coloured laminate worktop in the garage where it gets subjected to a lot of abuse. The only things that have caused discolouration is paint spills and hot bits of metals - Aside from the hot metals (hot pan or dish straight from the oven), the stuff it gets exposed to is unlikely to happen in an average kitchen.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

The colour match is fine, but I'd question going with laminate unless you're a very careful kitchen user. With heavy usage it may not stay looking smart for that long.
I myself prefer a pristine looking kitchen that I don't actually cook in!!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1
