Payment to Barclaycard I didn’t make gone missing

in Credit cards
Wasn’t sure whether to post this in the Bank forum or credit card because it’s a bit of both.
I made a payment if £200 to Barclaycard using bank transfer via the the Barclaycard app on 16th March. Unfortunately I entered the incorrect CVC. I checked no money had left my account then redid the payment straight away. All went fine.
Roll on to yesterday and I checked my Monzo account and saw another £200 was pending to come out my account dated 17th March. Monzo said I needed to check with Barclaycard that they will not take the payment and they wanted written proof of this before they would do anything. Because Barclaycard could not see the incoming payment they would not provide written proof or use the authorisation code that Monzo gave me for the transaction.
Monzo said that if the payment remains pending then it should return back to my account Friday. I woke up this morning to find the £200 has now fully gone from my account and has not gone into my Barclaycard account. Barclaycard can’t see any other payment coming in and Monzo say they still want written proof from Barclaycard that this extra £200 has not gone in.
I seem to be stuck in between both Monzo and Barclaycard and getting no answers where my money has gone.
Can anyone please advise? Thanks.

I’m a little uncertain as to if this is a bank transfer or a debit card payment, as you said it was a bank transfer, but from everything else you have described it appears to be a debit card payment using your Monzo debit card to pay Barclaycard.
On the basis that it is a debit card payment, as you have tried to resolve it with Barclaycard (the merchant) and you haven’t got anywhere, you should be able to raise a merchant dispute with Monzo on the basis that you were charged twice incorrectly. Is this something that Monzo have suggested that they can do, or doing already? They might ask for proof that you have been charged twice as part of this, which is what they might be doing now.2 -

Ok so it is a debit card payment.Ask Monzo to do a chargeback for this transaction, on the basis that you have been charged twice. They might ask for some sort of proof that you have been charged twice rather than you doing 2 separate payments. They should advise what proof they need if necessary (your Barclaycard statement only showing 1 payment going onto your Barclaycard account might be acceptable).1

The incorrect payment is likely to disappear this week anyway.0
