Mountfield lawnmower charger

Our electric Mountfield lawnmower charger went BANG this morning - It has not blown the fuse (worryingly) - but the led no longer comes on - there was an smell of smoke and a loud bang !
Anyway - I am trying to source a replacement charger - its got to be a MCG48LI
Everywhere that I have tried is sold out
They cost about £50
Any suggestions ?
B&Q list it - but when you try to order/buy one - its out of stock
Screwfix have the MCG40LI - ours is 48v not 40v
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

What should we buy?
It looks as if a mains one is needed rather than rechargeable due to costs
Our lawn is about 80feet by 40 feet
