I get this included with the car service each year - TBH I haven't taken much notice of it to date but the AA cover is due to come up for renewal and is getting eyewatering.  Just wondering whether anyone has experience of Volvo assistance? Do I need to carry on with the AA ??

Check who it’s with. My Skoda assist is with the AA and is the same service at half the price.

Well, not quite the same - it covers the car not the person, and isn’t transferable if I change car, for example, but the breakdown cover is the same and is the same AA van that would come out if I was with them.
Check the cover for any differences.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

According to the Volvo Owners Club forum Volvo Assistance is as variable as the AA, but you do seem to get a Volvo specialist most of the time. Have you been paying for the AA as well as having Volvo Assistance? That's not very MSE.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I know - we weren't very MSE - having said that when we got volvo 1 we still had a landrover that was prone to unreliability and needed cover,  only recently got back to 2 volvos and no other random cars lurking around. At least we are on the case now

I've used Volvo Assistance when my clutch failed and they were brilliant. They have their own vans. You even get a courtesy car for a couple of days.

The downside is that they will take you to a Volvo dealership which might be expensive. Fortunately, mine was a mechanical failure which they covered under goodwill as it was outside of warranty. I wouldn't have fancied picking up the bill otherwise.

LOL I know what you mean - it was OK doing its cross country bit but heavy on tyres, the electrics were a law unto themselves and eventually the engine packed up - still it was fun while we had it and good for working out in the sticks
