Amazon/Hermes Item Return Never Turned Up

Hi

I waited in all day today 8am-8pm for a large 16kg microwave to be returned to Amazon via Hermes, and they never turned up. 

Amazon say that they collect the item the "next business day" as long as you order the return by 11pm the day before. I ordered the return yesterday morning (March 17th) and it's Friday 18th now. So today should be the next business day. 

My question is:
Is Saturday considered a "business day" to Hermes? Because I know Hermes still make deliveries on Saturdays. 

I googled it and found the info:

You can expect your parcel to be collected between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and between 8am to 6pm on Saturdays. We don't collect parcels on Sundays or on bank holidays.

But this is referring to the service Hermes provide when the customer orders through Hermes directly. And they get a tracking code. 

As it's an Amazon return, I get no tracking code or approximate time of collection. 

I just need to know:
Do I need to stay in all day Saturday too?

Hermes pickup we have found is unreliable and as you say you can't track it. I suspect they may be along today to pick it up- we generally find they come the day after the Amazon return process said they would i.e. today in your case. When we had to return a monitor that I didn't really want to leave outside I had to text our local courier (luckily he gives out his number) just to check when he was picking it up. 

You can reschedule via Amazon customer service but then you'll be left with the same issue of trying to second guess when they will turn up. Or you can try and leave it outside for them if reasonably safe to do so.

I always find when I return items to Next, who also use Hermes, they say it will be next day but it's always the day after.  They do collect on Saturdays in my area.

The good news is that if they miss you, they will come back the following day, so I wouldn't wait around for them if you have things to do.

They didn't come on Saturday. Fingers crossed for today!
