Hi
We moved into our new home in november last year. Its freehold but the surrounding grounds are dealt with by a management agreement for upkeep and the like.
We paid all the usually mortgage and solicitor fees but have heard nothing else until today.
Its seems the house builders have moved said management to another company. Theyve since sent an invoice for the upkeep to the previous owners of our house. Not sure how or why they have their new address. Anyway my solicitor has said they now want £120 to change the name to us. Why should a 30 second database change cost £120. Isnt there some cap on charges like this. Any help or ideas?

We are just selling our house and have the same. There is a deed of covenant which basically says that you’ll meet all the obligations that the previous owner agreed to when they bought the house. It is a total racket.0

There is legislation that protects leaseholders from Admin Fees which are not reasonable - but unfortunately, it doesn't apply to freeholders. (Although there's talk of new legislation to protect freeholders as well.)
So it's just a case of relying on contract law. You probably signed a deed (i.e. a contract) agreeing to pay fees to the management company - what did it say about this kind of Admin Fee?
