Wow my dogs would be up and over and gone to hunt cats with that ramp, I mean roof. It really isn't a clever design, but maybe it could be turned into a feature with some plants? Wouldn't be so noticeable then. As you say, a fence is an option too, just one that might make the space feel more restrictive depending on the size of garden etc.

The more I look at it, the more ridiculous it loops. Can imagine children having a good swing off that gutter; me, smashing my head standing up from gardening ....

Is your garden higher than other plots? That garage looks so odd and far too low. How strange. Having the fence will mean you lose a few more inches of your grass, but at least it would give better height.
Yes our plot is higher, our first thought was a fence to make it safe, then place our bamboo pots a long the fence line, but just worried that the boundary issue might come up if we sell the property,
You should also be worried about what will happen when your neighbor wants to maintain the roof and guttering. It if they don't maintain it and it starts to leak all over your fence.

And maintenance of the guttering will be near impossible with a fence or hedge in front of it... this is one of those cases where you might expect to see a covenant restricting what can be planted/placed there.

Exactly what we thought, we told the site manager it's a great climbing frame for kids, we won't be able to use that part of the garden as to dangerous, thinking fence and plants are our only option as developers won't want to demolish and rebuild,

Yes, now moved in, only seen the garden 2 days before we moved in we had already exchange with the completion date, we were unable to view garden before due to scaffolding all round, garages were last to be built,

That is quite disgraceful!  Having said that, I have never bought a new house so don't know what is deemed acceptable.   I would want some money back at least, but don't know if that is realistic.  You have my commiserations.

Also need access to refix the ridge tiles when they come off. If the owner of the garage is lucky, it may not need touching for 15 years. A lot less if the kids are using it as a climbing frame.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Oh dear! In that case maybe some custom made raised beds on wheels so that the children don’t chase each other around that end and run into a corner and roofline. Plant some nice herbs or flowers in raised beds but they will be movable for Maintanance.

    Not acceptable.

Either get a sledgehammer out ;-) Or start action against the house owner (yes the owner not the builder, assuming there is one).
