Hi, my wife and I (both walk with rollators) need to travel from Weymouth to Wendover (for RAF Halton), I have sorted out rail journey ie Weymouth - Waterloo.......Marylebone - Wendover, ideally with very little luggage, we would like to use a bus. Can anyone advise me if there's a direct service between Waterloo & Marylebone please.
I appreciate a taxi might be the best option, but we're able to negotiate a bus. Underground is not an option.

Bus 139 would get you as far as Baker Street, which is close to Marylebone:

Assuming you want to use your free bus pass as pensioners then the 139 bus from Baker Street is easiest - its only a two minute walk from Marylebone (just turn left out of the station through Dorset Square to the stop).
It won't be quick though especially in rush hour as it passes through Oxford Street and Trafalgar square.
Its much quicker to get the Bakerloo line direct from Marylebone to Waterloo - just a ten minute or so trip. The bus could easily take an hour if the traffic is bad.3 -
Thanks for those three replies. I've noted we have slightly over hour & half to cross London. Will give it overnight thought, oh yes, we would use our passes.0

Only just saw this thread, an hour and a half should be fine. You don't say when you're going but here's the options for a journey right now with requirements for step free access and slow walking pace with a max 30 mins walking:

The 453 bus goes to/from very close to Marylebone to St Thomas' Hospital / County Hall, about 0.4 - 0.5 mile from Waterloo main entrance. You could get a 211 from outside Waterloo to the stop then change to the 453.Not even wrong1

OK, here's an updated one showing a maximum of 5 minutes walking per leg. I used a random lunchtime on Monday, obviously you can click the option to edit the journey to get your most likely date and time.It does mean changing buses but the only walking you'll do is from train station to/from attached bus station plus a bit between bus stops. I'd probably avoid the one that goes via Euston as that's about a 350m walk to change buses but the ones via Victoria and Piccadilly Circus look like they use the same stops or ones that are very close by to each other. If you go to that link you can see maps of the options so you can see exactly what's involved.

That too looks OK, they're not moving till late May I think, but once there, we will be expected to make an effort. Now each of you have submitted suggestions, think I'll print them off and do some pondering. As and when, I'll find this post and let you know, thanks again.
PS, am I right in thinking the return journey is walk bck through Melcombe Street to Baker, ask where the 139 bus stop is etc to Waterloo?.0
