A tap which leaks more when supply isolated

Christ, the state of some of the replies here. It's almost as if some people live in parrellel fantasy universes...
@badger09 - new fangled expensive type?
In reality it's 25 years old and looks to be a bog standard tap.
@Badger09, @Belenus and @Bendy_House I can't see anywhere where anyone has said that the, 25 year old, kitchen is being fully replaced due to the tap leaking.
In reality the thread was set up searching for more helpful (Google that term) members - which thankfully it found.

I was yanking your chain, VI. :-)1

Please don't be so sensitive as it was not aimed at you.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -

Mine was also intended as a joke, hence the emoji, and was clearly taken as such by other posters. Sorry if OP didn’t see it that wayBelenus said:

IMHO the light hearted remarks were clearly tongue in cheek and didn't appear to intend any offense.
I certainly didn't feel they warranted such a Meldrewistic response.
I'm also unsure if Bendy_House falls into the "living in the parallel universe" or "Helpful member" category given that he both solved the puzzle and cracked a funny.
Life really is too short...
Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???0 -
VI was courteous and engaging up to that point, and clearly just misread Badger's joke and 'wink'.We all have not-so-good days. ('blush' emoji - having had a recent slapped wrist from MSE).1

As a aside if low pressure is making leak more noticable would turning pressure up be useful if a ceramic tap is beginning to develop a drip.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0

How can you increase the mains pressure?Eldi_Dos said:As a aside if low pressure is making leak more noticable would turning pressure up be useful if a ceramic tap is beginning to develop a drip.
Anyhoo, it's not a practical solution - the tap is worn, and a £15 pair of ceramic cartridges or a £15k full kitchen refurb will sort it :-)0 -
By adjusting the stopcock to control the force of the water coming out the taps, especially if it's only for a few weeks.Bendy_House said:
