I had an email from Symbio about two weeks ago to advise the credit balance on my account had been transferred to E.on next and for me to contact them. I contacted them and asked me to download a copy of my. final bill from Symbio showing the credit. However plonker of the week who I dealt with said I had been misinformed and it was not a credit but I owed Symbio this money.

I then phoned Symbio to clarify and they confirmed the credit had been forwarded and the minus against the amount indicated it was a credit balance.

So I am no closer getting this money refunded to me and have now sent an email with a copy of the Symbio bill to the ceo hoping this person can investigate on my behalf.

I have also pointed out that from the 3 to 9 October 2021 both companies have charged me for the same electricity. I was willing to let that go but based on my latest experience I shall expect either Symbio or E.on next to refund that as well.

I received my final bill from Symbio on 2 December 2021, and it showed a balance of -£23.78, i.e. a credit balance. This amount was applied as a credit on my EON.Next account. You should be able to resolve your situation by emailing your final Symbio account to EON.Next. As your Symbio bill will also show their closing meter reading, you should also be able to get EON.Next to adjust their opening reading.

How many kWh/£ were you over charged for the 6 days.
if it’s less than 250 then you probably won’t get an action.
I spoke to the ombudsman and they said they wouldn’t expect re-billing for <250 units (kWh).
in theory the next operator should pick up the higher reading, so if you went straight to eon next then they should pick up the higher reading.

i think you should be talking to eon next about both your credit and the meter reading (assuming you went straight from symbio to eon).

You can just into your ex Symbio account and view bills and can request one. Takes about 30 mins to come through or phone them on 0333 050 9372.

I did this yesterday and a copy to their Helpdesk as well.

TBH I am partly to blame for the situation I find myself in. Instead of waiting as many advised me to do I went from Symbio to Neon reef.  Then NR to BG.  Everything has worked out fine for the second part but the issue has been the dates between the 3 to 9 October. I only used about 100kw and was charged about £7.90 by e.on next and even less by Symbio as my kw rate was about 10p per kw for the same period.

I am not too bothered about that but would like the main credit back of £28.00.

After seeing this I have just gone into my Symbio account and it looks like they have raised new final bills.  I calculated my Symbio balance to be £13.72 credit but the final bill and balance transferred to Eon was £14.71.  The new bill shows as £13.72 credit. Checked the payments screen and it is showing 99p with a payment method of WO which I assume is written off.  I wonder if there was a DD still in place they would have lifted that amount. Just received the full bill and it looks like they fouled up the VAT on the final bills.

Prompted by this discussion, I have obtained an updated Final Bill from Symbio. The credit balance is 56p LESS than the amount which was shown back in December and which was credited to my EON.Next account. I expect EON.Next will have claimed the original amount from OFGEM, so I don't expect to suddenly see a 56p charge.
