British gas, prepayment electric key limit?

I have been told twice by British gas live chat, the maximum on key is £250.

I habe £99, and twice now I tried to add more and not allowing as already maximum.

Anyone else managed to get more than £99 or have BG been sneaky and put a limit for the loophole?
