New car order cancellation
Please help with advice. I ordered a new car through Motorfinity but I had to cancel the order a day before delivery due to changes in my personal circumstances. Motorfinity is charging me for cancellation and for delivery though the car has not been delivered to me. I believe I have the right to cancel the order without being charged.
Also there was no delivery cost on the price breakdown as it was meant to be delivered free of charge, so why am I being charged for delivery. Has anyone experienced this and how can I get out without paying all these costs please.

Delivery can include delivery from manufacturer to dealer. You ordered it; it had to get there somehow.0

What is your source for that?
The dealer now has to pay for the car and is out of pocket until someone else buys it.

Chances are it was delivered to the dealer already. They would have have spent some time preparing it for delivery to you, fixing any damage done during transport, activating any telematics and generally checking that it is ready for the customer.0

Was everything done online? (Are cars excluded from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations 2013?)Jenni x0

Cars are made to order and delivered to the dealer's. They must have employed staff to deliver it. You can't really cancel it the day before delivery and not expect to pay anything. That's unreasonable.1

What car is it? Have you paid anything yet? A deposit maybe?
It is possibly worth more now than the price that you agreed when you ordered it.
Perhaps Motorfinity will write off the cancellation and delivery charges if you approach them from that angle.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1
