B&q tiles

So I naively thought all tiles would be the same quality, stupid eh?! I bought metal ID tiles from b&q. My husband and I layed them. It took 3 days and by the 3rd day we noticed a few small chips on a couple we layed the first day. So we hoped it was a fluke and lifted and replaced them. It's now been finished less than a week and we have found a fresh chip since laying (I inspected them closely while cleaning so I know it's new). Nothing has been dropped. The tiles are anthracite, the glaze is thin and despite being described as coloured through, they chip white. So stands out.
I complained to B&q who claim the tiles are fine, no one else has complained and they will offer me £70 final offer. What can I do please? Any advice. Can't find a relevant ombudsman. We want to lift them and replace them and minimum would like the money we spent on the tiles.

What did the whole lot cost you? £70 may be a reasonable offer, or it could be derisory. Without knowing the overall cost, it's impossible to say.
There is no tile ombudsman and at this stage, you need to exhaust the process with B&Q. What has happened to date, for them to have come up with a "final offer"? That wording suggests there's been some back and forth.
Ultimately, it comes down to whether the tiles are faulty or of unsatisfactory quality, and whether they're fit for the purpose for which they were sold. How did you pay for them? Credit card? Debit card?0 -
OP I assume you've laid them on the floor and the tiles are advertised as suitable for floors (and if possible confirmed with manufacturer they are for floors).
I wouldn't accept their offer now, I would leave the tiles down for a couple of months and if you find they keep chipping then go back and advise the tiles are not durable enough for flooring and you'd like them to sort it out.
There could either e a problem with the batch in which case they could replace them plus cover materials to relay or you'd be looking at a refund plus the materials you used to lay them.
Although it's nice to get things resolved quickly I'd be wary of taking their offer now and finding the floor looks terrible down the line, or of course it may just be the odd chip from excessive wear and the floor will look fine in which go back in a couple months and accept their £70 if i's still on the table.
If you wanted to reject them now for a refund you can within 30 days of delivery but B&Q could ask you to demonstrate there is a problem with the tiles which is going to be tricky with one chip on the currently laid tiles. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -

Interesting though because the user reviews of the metal ID tiles (only two) are positive and do not mention chipping whereas the reviews of the oscano tiles do sound just like the OP's problem.0 -

Did you leave a bad review?
There's one here (Trade Point are also B&Q) mentioning chipping but it was left by Squirrelmummy so very similar to your MSE user name.
