TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Magic - The Bad Guys – March 2022” (the “Competition”). These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail. 

 

ON-AIR COMPETITION T&C’S

 

1.Entry ROUTES and Costs	Online at https://planetradio.co.uk/magic/   Online entry is free of charge.   Entries are restricted to one entry per person.   Calls with be charged at your standard network rate.
2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN	ON-AIR COMPETITION There will be one winner each day from Monday 21st March until Friday 25th March during the Breakfast show on Magic Radio between 6am and 10am.  In order to be eligible to win, entrants must go online to magicradio.co.uk, during the pre-registration period of the competition, highlighted in section 3 Entry Period & give the following information:  Their full name and contact details Enter their ‘bad guy’ story, in which they will describe a light-hearted story of someone in their life who causes inconvenience (ie – my partner doesn’t offer me a tea when they make their own)   All valid entries will be pooled and will be judged on how entertaining, engaging, funny and best suited for Magic the entry is. All entries will be judged by the Magic production team, the production manager, and an independent judge. A shortlist for each day will be selected from all entries after they have gone through the judging process.   Upon shortlisting, we will require the nominators to coherently explain their entry. The entry must be light-hearted, entertaining and humorous and match the entry that was entered online.   Being called during the entry period or shortlisted for this competition does not deem the entrant a winner, the entrant will only be deemed a winner once announced on air on the following days (21st/22nd/23rd/24th/ 25th March 2022) during the hours of the Breakfast show on Magic radio.   Shortlisted entrants will be called by 5pm the day before the competition round to confirm the entrant is available to take part. If the entrant is unavailable to take the call or to take part in the on-air competition, they will forfeit the prize and another entrant will be chosen.   Mechanic:  Pre-register: The entrant will enter the competition with their example of a ‘bad guy’ story via the online entry form on the Magic website, including their name, email address and phone number. A bad guy story would include any light-hearted anecdote of someone in the persons life who causes a slight annoyance – a partner who has never made dinner, a noisy DIY obsessed neighbour, a colleague who doesn’t make teas for anyone etc.      On-air: The entrants selected to come to air will be asked for their availability for a pre-recorded call with the Breakfast presenters Ronan & Harriet, organised by the Production team. If the entrant is not available at the suggested time or misses the call from the production team, they will not be entitled to a reschedule and would forfeit their entry.   On the call, the Presenter will ask the entrant to detail their ‘bad guy’ story (the same story as entered online) in a concise and radio friendly manner. Only once the Presenter has announced the entrant as a winner on-air during the pre-recorded call, will the entrant become a winner.
3. ENTRY PERIOD	ON-AIR COMPETITION   Start Date and End Date. Pre-registration: from 17/03/2022 at 00.01 (Start Date) to 23/03/2022 at 10:30 (End Date).   The on-air portions of this comp will take place each day from 21/03/2022 until 25/03/2022, between 6am and 10am. The exact timings of the on-air competitions will be announced by the presenters during the show. The segment may be recorded at a different time to being played out on-air. Once the entrant has been shortlisted, the production team will call the entrant to brief in ahead of the competition round and ensure they are available at the time to record.   Winner Announcement. The winner of the competition will be announced on-air on either 21st / 22nd / 23rd / 24th/ 25th  March 2022 during Breakfast with Ronan & Harriet at 6am – 10am. The specific competition times will be announced during the show.   Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid.
4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS	Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. Entrants must be 18 years or over on the date of entry Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Specific Terms. If you or any other person at your household has won a prize valued at £500 or more on any Bauer brand in the past 6 months, you nor they are not eligible to enter or win this competition. 5. THE PRIZE	ON-AIR COMPETITION   There will be 1 winner per day on the Breakfast show with Ronan & Harriet between 6am and 10am from the 21st March – 25th March.   Prize: £1,000 Cash provided via cheque or bank transfer.   This prize is valued at £500 or more, so as per our general Bauer prize T&C’s, neither the winner nor another individual living at the same residential address as the winner are entitled to enter this draw again whilst the competition is open or win another Bauer Media prize for the next 6 months.   If the eligible entrant decides to receive the prize via bank transfer, they will need to provide their sort code and account number to process the request.

1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you have submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you any remuneration therefore and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

1. MISCELLANEOUS.

 

• Entries which do not comply with these Specific Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Specific Terms.
• Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
• You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.
• We accept no liability for network, technical or signal errors, issues or failures experienced by entrants when entering the competition or at any stage during the mechanic of the competition.
• Whilst on-air, you must not make any inappropriate, profane, indecent, harmful or offensive statements. If you do so we reserve the right to take you off-air immediately and disqualify you from the competition. You may be also disqualified from the competition at any time if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. Any prize already won may be withdrawn and re-awarded to another entrant.
• As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.

 

We may cancel, end or suspend the Competition where we are required to do so in circumstances outside our control. We reserve the right to amend these Specific Terms at any stage during the Competition if such amendment is necessary to facilitate the administration of the Competition.
