Switching supplier after Warm Home Discount application

I applied for a Warm Home discount via Shell, but I now want to switch to Octopus. Can I still receive it if I've switched to Octopus before the payment is confirmed by Shell? Or am I effectively locked in to Shell until the payment is made or confirmed?

It depends which group you are in (from the Ofgem WHD FAQ)...

Looks like the need to update the dates in the FAQ, but the intent is clear.

The link says the WHD should be credited to your account by 31/3/22. You would have to wait for that before switching, it's not long now and probably worth the wait.

Most schemes are already closed to new applications for this years scheme, including Octopus https://octopus.energy/blog/warm-home-discount/
