Considerations on choosing a professional Executor

My wife & I in our 80s living in UK and both UK citizens with no children are needing to consider appointing a professional Executor to organise our business affairs following our death.
We have a house build (small) business which we intend to use profits to set up a youth employment education charity; i.e. local youths showing a willingness to assist the community can apply annually for a gift payment to enhance their skills or education training.
Where can we view recommendations of established professional Executors who can show a successful track record of achievements and supportable costs.

Check first to see if there are any local charities who already do this sort of thing. Much easier and cheaper to just leave the money to them than to set up a charity from scratch. You could ask that the money be given under your name - the Quintain Award/Bursary or whatever.2

You write as though these ae your thoughts ? Are they included in your wills ?
After your deaths what is going to happen to the house building business without you to drive it ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
As you are going to arrange a charity, the solicitors involved could act as executors, which is more logical than appointing others, or the Trustees of the Charity you set up..
I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.0 -
Thank you all for your valuable thoughts and particularly for your willingness to help us.BTW I think I have discovered a marketable new business venture "set up an executors business to carry out good work at a known cost" undoubtedly it would take to long for me to put it in place!!!Again thank you.0
