Hopefully in the right place.
I have brought a Ipod nano 8gb. for my daughter. Its tiny.
What do I need to go with it?
Where can I get it other than Currys?
Are the batteries replaceable?
A case for it?
A docking station? whatever that is.
I hope she knows what to do with it!!!

I pod batteries are replaceable with care, or by a competent technician, cost is about £12.00
You need itunes on her/your PC available for free from here
You can go for the branded cases or you can get very reasonable alternatives
Docking Stations vary in price and quality. Depends how much you are prepared to spend.
One thing I would replace is the ear pieces. The Apple ones are !!!!!0 -
don't worry about batteries, however a stand alone charger (travel charger?) would be a great accessory (you must charge from your computer otherwise)
Also a case will keep it nice and free from knocks and bangs, there are dozens on Amazon (etc) - leather, cloth, plastic etc
The only other thing you need is music! - You can buy a £20 voucher from the iTunes Music store from places like sainsburys - this would make a nice gift.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. PS - Earphones are quite a personal thing, everyone likes their own style, size etc. I would agree that the standard earphones are worth replacing (they hurt my ears, more than anything else) however let your daughter do it i'd say as she'll know what style she likesHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You don't need iTunes, other alternatives exist. prsumably you get a copy of iTunes on disc when you buy an iPod?It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
The new boxes of iPods are very small (as the iPods are), so many don't know include iTunes (such as the shuffle), so download it just in case.
Batteries will last quite a few years, and best to get a technician to replace as mentioned above, such as: http://www.fix-my-ipod.co.uk/ipod_repair_home.asp
It comes with a dock connector to plug into the iPod and computer, but you can buy a desktop dock if you want for an extra. John Lewis and many other stores sell them (including on-line), just make sure it's for the model you purchased!
What you get in the box:
* iPod nano
* Earphones
* USB 2.0 cable
* Dock adaptor
* Quick Start guide
There are some beautiful, but expensive leather cases by ProPorta, Komono, and other top brands, or "skins" which fit tightly over the iPod.
There is a massive selection of accessories, cases etc from one of the biggest on-line iPod shops for everything at: http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk
Hope that helps0
