A strongly worded letter to the landowner pointing out the fallibility of ANPR in car parks; it is so bad that councils are prevented from using it!  The landowner should contact the parking company who, after all, they employed and get them to sort it, either by a software adjustment or by introducing manual checks.

still furious with the double dip charge and would like to be compensated for my time,

    Read this

Have you complained to Trading Standards?  They are obviously relying on faulty equipment.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Ok I have a worrying update. Please read the thread for context.

Originally I thought the PCN had been cancelled, however a few weeks after this post in March, I've been receiving debt collection letters which I've ignored, thinking NCP hasn't communicated the cancellation yet. Fast forward a few months, I received my first letter from bwlegal and today, I've received a letter of claim from them.

Puzzled by this, I spoke to NCP through their webapp chat and this was the following discussion:

Yes, you need to reply to the letter of claim stating it has been cancelled, giving whatever proof you have of cancellation, including the above chat.

As a precaution I would also tell them that whilst you deny the debt you are seeking debt advice so require them to put the case on hold for 30 days as per court pre-action protocol.
That will give you extra time in case this isn't sorted out pronto.

You should also complain to the landowner and your MP, even if you have done this previously.

Send BW Legal a screenshot of the webchat.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • Thanks both, appreciate it. Do I have to use one of the templates or could I send a brief email to bwlegal with my evidence of the cancellation? (PNC portal status page says cancelled + download of the above chat)

If it is a letter of claim you received from BWLegal, just send an e-mail as per @Fruitcake and  @Coupon-mad's advice.  If it is a N1 claim form from CCBC, that is a different matter, which is it?

It's a LoC from bwlegal. I've emailed them as per the advice. I'll update here once I have an update.
