Standard Charge
I also had a shock. My direct debit has increased from £109 pounds a month to £211. My fixed two year rate ran out on 28th Feb.
When querying this with EDF I was told that my standing change had been so low on my fixed rate and this was why it was more than doubled.
I really hadn't taken this into account .I just thought that it would go up 54% on my £109. So beware. PJ

The SVR increased on average 54%, your previous fix would almost certainly have been lower than the SVR so the increase will be proportionally higher. The unit rates have also increased considerably, the increase is largely going to be down to unit rates rather than the standing charge.pjja said:I also had a shock. @pjja look at the sticky's at the top of the page.
Forget the 54% unless you are exactly Mr/Mrs average user.
As for your Direct Debit, is it actually covering your annual usage to the nearest pound ?
If not, get those usage figures form your bills and actually do the sums yourself using the new unit rates and standing charges.
If your rate ran out on the 28th Feb, you will only have one month on the old SV rate until it increases on 1st April, so do check you are using the correct figures.0 -
Someone coming off the end of a two year fix is hit with a double-whammy. Massive increase from the fixed rates set 2 years ago onto the existing SVR, then on 1 April another massive increase as the SVR goes up by an average of 54%.
