Hi I am on a variable non-fixed having been transfered from Igloo. I've stayed upt given the general advice with price caps. I was paying £85 per month for both gas & elec and this amount transferred over. I realise prices are increasing dramatically, but they now say it will go up to £220 p/m! Can spomeone tell me my best action? Can such an increase be right? Don't know where to start!

Well assuming you £85 was covering your bills with Igloo, you've have two price rises, the first to the SVT for last October and now the even bigger jump to the April cap price. If you account has fallen into arrears, E.on may have added some more on to stop you getting further into the mire.Do you submit meter readings every month, or is this all based on estimates?1

I am also on EON next after being transferred from Igloo, i suspect you were not paying enough before but also you should remember that if you were on a fixed deal or cheap deal with igloo you now are subject to 2 big increases, first the jump to the current cap at 4p kwh for gas and i suspect they are already setting your DD for the next one which is a jump to 7p kwh in a couple of weeks.1

I too am an ex Igloo customer moved to Eon next,( Eastern Region). and have found when giving the monthly meter reading, they respond with bill within 24 hours, which is goodWhat is not so good is that their Leccy price from April 1st is 29.239p per Kwh, with an astounding 37.918p Daily Charge, (£138.40) a year, which I know will cause real problems to some of the households who's bills I monitor0

I don't know what Igloo's unit price was for electricity, but I was with Symbio at 12.3p, then changed to EON.Next at 20.1p, and will soon be at 28p. I was paying Symbio £35pm, then EON.Next £75pm, will be at least £90pm. No-one is going to find this easy to swallow. Not to mention the gas!
