The new SP tariff is called Fixed Price May 2023 M3
Electric - Standing charge = 48.12p & Primary unit rate = 55.52p
Gas - Standing charge 27.22p & Primary unit rate = 18.93p
I do worry that there's a breaking point going to happen or people just won't have electric and gas turned on in their homes
Luckily I had a very friendly person on the end of the phone and they informed me what the price cap will be as of AprilElectric - Standing charge = 44-45p & unit rate = 27-28pGas - Standing charge = 27-28p & unit rate = 7-8p
So the standing charge prices are similar but the unit rates will be much cheaper.
I will now wait until my fixed rate ends on the 31st May and move over to the standard variable rate.
Perhaps by that time cheaper fixed rates will become available.
I hope this helps someone else..0 -
