Get an MG5. Zero tax, 1.5p per mile in fuel.
You must have a cracking energy deal. I’m paying 20p per kw.
Are you only paying 6p per kw?

Deal we have offers cheaper electricity overnight (12.30-5 From memory). Until recently we were paying 4.5p overnight (when we charge the car), now ~7p.

That's still only 5p/mile, which is a bargain compared to combustion (easily 15-20p/mile)

Assuming you get 4 miles per KWH?

If that's true then my new Volvo PHEV (due in about 4 weeks) should get 44 miles from the 11 KWH battery. :)  (If I can get 33+ miles then that would do my daily commute - when I eventually go back to the office).

  • I’m getting 4.7 miles per kw which I think works out at over 150 mpg if it was petrol.

    I don't know why I thought 11kWh ... looking at reviews it's actually an 18.8kWh battery pack.

Octopus Go is 7.5p per kWh overnight for new customers but I'm on 5p which works out at roughly 1.5p per mile in the real world. My actual average is only 1.1p because some of my charging is free.
