i was switched over to British Gas when Neon Reed went bust back in November. I was on DD and still have not had any money taken. British gas are saying it will happen but I'm very worried they'll just take a HUGE amount when they do finally get sorted as it's getting on for 5 months now!!! Can't log in to my account or speak to anyone... Help... anyone else in the same situation??

As long as you've been setting aside the money you were not paying each month you'll have a decent amount ready for when the bill does arrive, but it will be mo0re than your original DD of course as the rates are higher...If you've got a note of your meter reading at the time of the switch we can help you work out how much you owe at the moment if that would be helpful?1

Go onto chat and request that a bill is generated...I asked for one this morning and its been produced (although I can only see the total at moment as the detailed PDF probably won't be available until tomorrow). I have also found that if you enter your meter reading (on web portal at least) then on the same page it does then give you your up to date balance, but oddly that doesn't show on the summary page as you might expect....go figure! If you want to get monthly billing then at the same time request to go into variable DD rather then fixed monthly and that 'should' mean they bill every month and take the full amount of the bill every month (I say 'should' as its BG we're talking about....) unless you definitely want to stay on a fixed monthly DD.1

Thank you. I've managed to get somewhere today with them on the portal. I've not been able to log in to my account to give any meter readings so far!!
