Reappply whilst awaiting PIP appeal decision

Hoping someone can help.

My daughter has made a bit of a mess of her PIP renewal - missed appointments etc.

They have declined the renewal based on the missed appointment, rather than medical and we are appealing.

The appeal process appears to be quite drawn out so I was think it may be worth re-applying now whilst we are waiting for the appeal. Otherwise, if she loses the appeal, then she will receive nothing for the while period of time whilst waiting on the court appeal decision.

So my question is basically - is there any downside to reapplying for PIP whilst awaiting the court appeal decision on her previous renewal?

On what basis are you appealing the decision to terminate her award due to missed appointments.
What is her "Good reason" ?

The downside is the need to deal with both a new application and the appeal (& assessment) in short succession.
If the appeal for a "Good reason" is successful then your daughter will still need to attend an assessment and restart the process of renewing her old PIP claim (which the DWP decision stopped)

If the new application is successful, then that appeal (and subsequent reassessment and award) will be time-limited and any award will only run to the date of her new application.

If successful her new application will be paid from the date she applied for the PIP1 form.

A new application is, I think, sensible. She would be wise to get advice, medical evidence, familiarise herself with the points system etc,  and make as strong an application as possible.

Depending on the time gap between her PIP ending, and her new application - The appeal may not be so sensible. Might it be considerable stress for your daughter with little actual reward ?
It will also depend on the strength of the "good reason" cited in her appeal.
