Monese gift cards expired before selecting credit.

The gift cards I purchased through the Monese app expired, there was no reminder. I bought £150 worth but because I already had some previously left over and they expire after 1 year of being selected, I left it a little before selecting my vendor (so it would last longer than 1 yr) as they give up to 3 months to select. Unfortunately I noted the date it said I had until expiry, but it had already expired (probably earlier the same day).
Problem is there's no way to chat, no support! And every time I call the support line I get cut off after about an hr, I emailed them 3 times it's been a week with no reply. Any advice on what steps to take next? I'm hoping someone might reply on their twitter/facebook acc.

Monese CS is awful, but in this instance given you are asking them to show you leeway I would personally not be badgering them.

You don't have cause for complaint as far as I can see, so you are relying on their good will.0 -
It is no different to going in to a supermarket and buying gift cards off the stands there.
You know the expiry date and it is in your interests to use them before that date.
Once they expire, they are simply pieces of worthless plastic.
This is how these companies make millions of £s. They rely on people not using their cards in time.
Many are probably given as gifts, and forgotten about in drawers.
They have zero redemption value, after expiry.0
