I’ve checked my drawings and there’s no mention of it. I didn’t see that part of the build happen so how can I tell if a cavity tray has been added or not? I’m guessing there should be signs like weep holes which you might have been looking for in my picture?
What's the new face brickwork like? The person that did those patches looks like he struggled with his trowel.1 -

There’s a steel beam right below that cavity wall, so if water was going to collect, it’s going to be there. I’d be worried about water collecting on it and seeping through the walls. But saying that, there’s a whole load of brick work it has to penetrate then make its way through all the insulation. We don’t live in an area that gets battered by the rain constantly.
We had building control in and they haven’t called out any issues. His visits are very brief though and seems to mainly focus on the major parts of the work. Definitely not the strict and super detailed type so wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t check this.
I’m using a local company to do this project and they have their set of contractors for different parts of the job. There’s none of that ugliness on any of the external facing brick work, thank goodness! I’m guessing less care was used with the assumption being that it’ll eventually get covered. There’s a few internal facing bits that are a bit like that - patches mind you.0
